Traveling with my husband and 2 daughters in their 20's, this was a fun way to spend our first night in Vienna. All of us have an interest in Mozart's music as well as theater, so we enjoyed the music, opera singers, costumes and audience interaction of the conductor. The musicians were excellent and the performances had a lot of energy. I opted for the Category A performance and dinner, and though I felt the show was worth the price, the dinner (for the cost) was ok. The dining room was lovely, service very attentive, but food was expensive for what it was and drinks and cocktails all cost extra. If I had to do it over, I'd skip the dinner.

Great experience. Amazing venue, well executed orchestra and opera performances. We are not classical music aficionados but it is worth a visit. I would not recommend the balcony seating above the orchestra.

We selected the dinner and music VIP package with the Vienna Mozart Concert and it was certainly worth every penny. The food at the Opus restaurant was fantastic with the staff making us feel very special. I was surprised by the coach ride, as I thought it was just a short trip to the theater, but instead we enjoyed a long carriage tour around the city center prior to the show.

A “page” was assigned to help us to our seats, give us programs, bring us drinks at the break and see us off afterwards.

The performance was enchanting. The music superb, the singers were very high quality and, overall, it was an outstanding concert.

Jeden Cent wert! Absolut erstaunliche Akustik im Goldenen Saal. Das Orchester besteht nicht nur aus talentierten Musikern, sondern auch aus Spaß und Energie. Auch der Dirigent fesselte das Publikum. Die Sänger haben eine hervorragende Arbeit geleistet, um mit dem Publikum in Kontakt zu treten. Eine tolle Zeit und sehr zu empfehlen!

Wenn wir Neujahr 2024 das "Neujahrskonzert der Wiener Philharmoniker" im Fernsehen hören und sehen, dann werden beim Stück "An der schönen blauen Donau" aufstehen und auf die Wiener Philharmoniker anstoßen.

Every january 1st, since I was a little child, I remember to see the New Year concert in Vienna, and today I thank God to allow me to see it, spetially the Blue Danube and the Radetzky March.
I always dreamed to be in that concert in the Muskiverein and listen those two pieces…
And my dream came true.
I could be in the Musikverein on dec 13th and listen to the Mozart orchestra. Not in the new year concert (that is extremely difficult and expensive), but I could be there…
What can I say, everything was perfect. Difficult to explain with words, but, in the end, a dream come true.

Very nice show, in the wonderful hall symbol of music. Really a unique emotion!
The two singers were very good, a little less the orchestra, which gave a slightly too commercial reading of beautiful music. Friendly and engaging conductor. The only negative note that we did not expect: the armchairs are very uncomfortable! And anyway, it was worth it, it was really a great thrill.

Ich fühlte mich großartig, im gleichen Raum des Neujahrskonzerts zu sein. Wirklich unglaublicher Konzertsaal.
Sound ist sehr gut im Raum.
Das Orchester ist sehr gut. Auch Bariton und Sopran lieferten eine fantastische Leistung ab. Magie!
Es ist eine erstaunliche Möglichkeit, Mozarts Werk kennenzulernen.
So interessant die Interaktion mit der Öffentlichkeit. So höflich. Maestro war amüsant.
Und dann endet die Show wie im Neujahrskonzert mit dem Radetzsky-Marsch!

Ich dachte, ich würde in der mittleren Pause gehen, weil ich nicht viel über Musik wusste. Aber ich war total erstaunt über die Darbietung: Der Ausdruck jedes Musikers war wie das Erzählen einer Geschichte. Ich hätte nie gedacht, dass Geige auf so viele Arten gespielt werden kann. Danach würde ich klassische Musik nie wieder so hören. Ich liebe diese großartige Erfahrung! !

Ne connaissant pas grand chose en musique classique nous nous sommes laissés tentés par ce concert… et nous avons passé une excellente soirée.. le cadre est somptueux, l’orchestre joue de nombreux morceaux connus, le chef d’orchestre pratique l’humour à juste dose, et finalement ces 2 h passent très vite… un découverte « de la musique classique pour les nuls »
A l’achat des billets on vous dit de venir comme vs êtes mais je vs recommande cependant d’être un peu habillé

Der Veranstaltungsort ist wunderschön (empfehlen Sie Sitzplätze, die dem Orchester am nächsten liegen - es gibt keine Erhöhung für die Sitze im Hintergrund). Die Darsteller sind hervorragend und ihre historische Kleidung kombiniert mit einer gut ausgewählten Auswahl an Mozarts Musik, um ein sehr, sehr angenehmes Erlebnis zu schaffen. Dieses Konzert erfüllte alle Erwartungen und der Preis war angemessen für die Qualität der Darbietung. Ich würde morgen wieder hingehen, wenn ich auf dem gleichen Kontinent wäre!

Wir haben am Karfreitag das Konzert besucht, es war ein sehr schöner Abend, besonders schön war auch das Zusammenwirken des Orchesters mit dem Chor. Dadurch, dass das Orchester in Mozart-Kostümen aufgetreten ist, hat man sich in der Zeit zurückversetzt gefühlt und konnte sich richtig gut vorstellen wie es wohl zu Mozarts-Zeiten gewesen sein muss. Besonders schön war auch das Ambiente im Goldenen Saal des Musikvereins, auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert.

Wir sind zwar Wiener, wollten aber einmal Wien aus der Sicht eines Touristen erleben (Danke Corona :) ). Das Konzert war mega! Besonders toll war, dass endlich einmal eine gute Mischung aus bekannten Werken gespielt wurde, die auch meiner Teenager-Tochter etwas sagen. Dass die Sänger in Kostümen auftraten war eine schöne Überraschung. Nur zu empfehlen!!!

Natürlich war dieses Konzert in diesem wunderbaren Saal eine Show - aber was für ein Konzertgenuss! Einen so heiter-vergnüglichen Musikabend habe ich noch nicht erlebt. Dirigent und Musiker*innen hatten sichtlich selbst ihren Spass an den mozärtlichen Ohrwürmern, die sie in hervoragender Qualität präsentierten. Es war schön zu beobachten, wie sie voll "dabei" waren, selbst wenn ihr Instrument gerade Pause hatte.

Köstlich zum Schluss beim Straußschen Walzer zwischendurch die für mein Empfinden ausgedehnte Verzögerung, bevor es schwungvoll wieder in den Dreivierteltakt ging - das amüsierte Lächeln einiger Musiker*innen dabei unterstrich den Effekt. Die Aufforderung des Dirigenten an das Publikum, beim abschließenden Radetzky-Marschstellenweise mitzuklatschen, passte voll in die muntere Atmosphäre.

Dass das Orchester an diesem Abend in Kostümen aus der Mozartzeit auftrat, war das Tüpfelchen auf dem i. Ich bin sicher, das Wolferl selbst hätte Riesenspaß an dem Ganzen gehabt!

Ein unterhaltender Abend mit guten Musikern und guter Bedienung der Klischees. Ist nicht hochnäsig gemeint, sondern eine Tatsache. Die Musiker und die aufführenden Sänger sind in Garderoben der Mozartzeit... das ist nett und unterhaltsam.
Das Orchester spielt alle "Gassenhauer" Mozart und macht somit den Abend sehr unterhaltsam und kurzweilig.
Man sitzt im schönen "Goldenen Saal" und darf die Atmosphäre genießen. Speziell für die Besucher Wiens, die im Sommer anreisen und somit kaum Möglichkeit haben ein Konzert zu besuchen, das Wiener Mozart Orchester des Musikvereins spielt auch im Sommer.
Es ist ein angenehmer, unterhaltsamer und guter Musikabend!

It was a wonderful show. Not to be missed. We paid extra for better seats, about 100 euros per seat. I would not have enjoyed it if I did not have a good seat. There are a lot of tour buses, so expect a lot of people. It was pretty organized.

I was at the Mozart concert at the Golden Hall on Sept. 12th. I enjoyed it very much. The musicians were very skilled. Most of the music was very familiar, but at one point the conductor played a beautiful violin piece (with orchestra) that I did not recognize. Can you tell me what piece that was?

We ordered tickets online several weeks before our holiday to Vienna, a painless experience. The tickets were mailed to us within a few days. The concert hall is amazing! Beautiful! The orchestra in period costume played a great variety of Mozart music some familiar, and some not, all enjoyable. Intermittently two vocalists sang, both together and separately - fabulous. And best of all was a clarinetist who outshone them all. Two hours of wonderful music went by in a blink.

A very beautiful venue to listen to Mozart & Strauss. The orchestra & conductor were superb. The music transports you to special places. The only down side was the presence of some tourists chatting away even during the concert. We were tourists too but we respect silence during concerts. Anyway, it was a delightful evening and the music was as beautiful as we expected.

We got our glad rags on, but anything was ok really. It was to celebrate my other half's 60th birthday. Such a lovely building, concert area smaller than I envisaged. The conceprt, choir and opera were amazing, so impressive and it was a beautiful experience. Not for children, hence crying of one and sleeping of others! So glad we went, it was memorable and I would recommend it as part of a visit to the everlastingly beautiful city of Vienna.

It's a bit campy. with the wigs and all, but the performers are all professionals at their craft. The playing was excellent and pleased the classical musician in the family. The only part that could be improved at the Opera House itself would be the process for picking up physical tickets following an online purchase. Kind of a scrum of people all there trying to do the same, and we got there early precisely to avoid that. We also couldn't use the "pick your own seats" option on the mobile version; it worked fine when we got back to a regular computer. We sat in the front row of the upper middle balcony. Sound was good, and we could see well.

Our last night in Vienna we went to a concert in the Vienna State Opera House. The venue is beautiful and quite historic. While the concert was aimed to the tourist trade, It had a nice selection of popular pieces by Mozart, both orchestral and operatic. The conductor was quite personable to the crowd, and ended with an encore of The Blue Danube, clearly a crowd favorite. He even tossed his baton to the crowd at the end. Very enjoyable evening!

Bought the dinner/concert package and was very delighted with the overall experience.

Dinner - at the Bristol Lounge, a very upscale hotel restaurant with an upscale vibe. The food was delicious and even came with complimentary champagne!

Concert - being a music lover I was not disappointed. All of the classics were played, the flute solo was incredible and you could tell the conductor/singers were passionately performing, with a culmination of the crowd clapping in unison per the conductors guidance!

Highly recommended you do this when in Vienna.

I am a professional musician and my husband is a music lover who also loves me. So when he marched up to purchase concert tickets for us from one of the salesmen (They were everywhere in the city pushing these concerts) I was a bit hesitant. It looked very touristy and "cute". How wrong was I? We walked to the concert hall, a more intimate hall but still very grand. Lovely orchestra :Strings, woodwinds, percussion and concert master all in formal attire, not the full symphony of course but the sound and the acoustics were FABULOUS.I don't know what happened to me.But when they started the Strauss that cliche Danube waltz my eyes just filled up. The setting, the music, Vienna, it was a magical moment. The 2 opera singers were exceptional. Apparently being talented, educated and beautiful is now the "new norm". So don't hesitate. Wij zijn met onze tienerdochters naar het concert geweest in de gouden zaal, het klonk echt heel mooi.
Onze dochter studeert viool , die gaf aan dat het echt heel professional klonk dus dan zal het wel
Wel veel Chinezen met camera’s maar niemand mocht filmen / fotograferen tijdens het concert , daar werd ook streng op gelet !
Op straat verkopen ze kaartjes en omdat we niet zeker waren van het adres hebben we het aan zo’n verkoper gevraagd , die wees ons de weg, en wilde ons meteen kaartjes aansmeren .... na lang aandringen bleek dat je dan niet in de gouden zaal terecht komt , dus wij waren blij dat we al kaartjes online besteld hadden. Je krijgt een cd mee en je kunt voor €6,= een boekje kopen.
Er is een pauze maar wij zijn blijven zitten omdat het best warm was en we niet alle trappen weer af wilden.
Wij waren netjes gekleed , de meeste mensen waren dat ook, een enkeling had een korte broek aan , die werden wel binnenlaten.
Waar je ook zit, je kunt het altijd perfect horen maar de plekken van €50,= zit je op het balkon aan de zijkant en dan moet je echt gaan staan om een aantal orkestleden te kunnen zien.
Het ligt er maar aan hoeveel geld je er voor over hebt.
Wij vonden het een aanrader en hadden het niet willen missen ondanks dat we niet echt van klassieke muziek houden.

About 25 musicians provided 2 hours of great entertainment (including interval) in a truly extraordinary setting. The performers knew their stuff, playing and singing a programme of popular Mozart pieces, plus a couple of extras by Strauss. The audience behaved themselves once it was made clear that recording the event was NOT acceptable and the stewards had cleared people from standing in gangways. Unlike some of these events, this was a concert of genuine quality and the acoustics were as good as claimed. Fair value for money for a Vienna concert.

This beautiful building, built in the 1860’s, is opulent and deserving of Mozart! The music was excellent, I can’t say enough about the solo violinist, just a breathtaking performance! Both operatic singers were very good. The acoustics in the hall are excellent. I enjoyed the playfulness of the conductor as well. This is an enjoyable evening for the entire family. Be sure to get photos before the performance as photography isn’t allowed once the performers enter the stage.

Kaufte das Abendessen / Konzert-Paket und war sehr zufrieden mit dem Gesamterlebnis.

Abendessen - in der Bristol Lounge, einem sehr gehobenen Hotelrestaurant mit gehobener Atmosphäre. Das Essen war köstlich und es gab sogar kostenlosen Champagner!

Konzert - Als Musikliebhaber wurde ich nicht enttäuscht. Alle Klassiker wurden gespielt, das Flöten-Solo war unglaublich und man merkte, dass der Dirigent / die Sänger leidenschaftlich auftraten und die Menge gemäß der Anleitung des Dirigenten unisono klatschte!

Sehr empfehlenswert, wenn Sie in Wien sind.

I attended this concert last year with my wife and another couple. It was wonderful!

This time I treated my 21 year old granddaughter and her friend. These girls were blown away! One of their first exposures to live classical music; the popular pieces were very enjoyable to them. They loved the costumes. They loved the venue. I paid for premium seats and they were great. The e-tickets were trouble free. I can’t wait to attend this event on my next visit to Vienna.

My wife & I went to the Mozart concert at the Musikverein Golden Hall in May. We booked only about 2 weeks in advance but had good seats fairly close to the front. Expensive at 105 Euros each but worth it I think. Great concert in a superb venue.

Mozart è sempre Mozart!

Andare a Vienna e non ascoltare un concerto di Mozart nella famosa Sala Dorata del Musikverein sarebbe inconcepibile. Acustica perfetta ed esecuzione impeccabile da parte dell'orchestra composta da soli 30 elementi e delle 2 voci soliste in costume dell'epoca. Immancabile alla fine del concerto la Marcia di Radetsky accompagnata dagli applausi a tempo del pubblico pagante (a caro prezzo!)

Golden Hall and The Mozart Concert - a must see Vienna attraction !

I am very impressed of the beauty of the Golden Hall and the Mozart Orchestra Performance as well. There is one point for improvement. I can understand that it's holiday season and lot's of tourists coming from different countries/region but in my opinion still the right/ at least semi-official outfit should be required. It lower the concert experience seeing around people in shorts and snickers. That's all, thank you !

un moment magique

j'avais lu des critiques concernant les tenues vestimentaires négligées de certains et sur le public asiatique bruyant et bien il n 'en a rien été ce samedi 1er juin dans la salle dorée; Public bien habillé, calme, respectueux et les appareils photos se sont tous éteints dès l'arrivée de l'orchestre.Celui-ci a joué des morceaux connus de Mozart ce qui permet à tous d'apprécier un tel spéctacle.,et a terminé par la célèbre marche radetzky. Les chanteurs étaient talentueux et jouaient très bien leurs personnages. Un coup de coeur pour la chanteuse et son petit sourire espiègle. Un excellent moment à vivre au moins une fois dans sa vie dans cette salle mythique et fabuleuse.

An enjoyable experience

The concert hall is magnificent and the music is great. Since tourists make up most of the audience, I did not expect a very high quality of the music performance. To my pleasant surprise, the musicians are real professionals who performed beautiful music with enthusiasm. The two opera singers are great, as well. The conductor is quite engaging with the audience. As a classical music lover, I truly enjoyed this experience. Few tips: you need to exchange your e-ticket to a paper ticket at the ticket counter, so arrive early to give yourself enough time. If you have a large backpack or handbag, you have to check it in for security reasons, so avoid bringing them to the concert. I paid for a “Superior Seating” seat, it’s totally worth the money.

A wonderfully enjoyable concert

What a spectacular concert hall....just gorgeous. Great singing by the two soloists and fabulous music with all musicians and the conductor dressed in period costume. Really brings the world of Mozart to life! Do go when you are in Vienna...it's quite a treat.

Please note, you are not to use a camera during the performance. So many tourists ignored the request, which is distracting to the audience, although the Concert Hall staff did a pretty good job to monitor those that attempted to record the concert.

Tolles Konzert im Wiener MusikvereinTolles Mozart Konzert - phantastischer Dirgent, super Orchester - in historischen Kostümen. Die einzelnen, gesungenen Darbietungen waren super. Wir saßen in den vorderen Reihen und haben gut gesehen. Ist sicher nicht auf allen Plätzen gleich gut möglich. Schöne Opernmelodien - 2x ca 45min mit einer kurzen Pause zwischendurch. Die Karten kauft man online und werden am Abend im Haus gegen Sitzplatzkarten umgetauscht. Einlass: 1 Std. vorher. Zum Musikverein sollte man zu Fuss gehen oder öffentliche Verkehrsmittel nutzen. Bleibt in guter Erinnerung.

The architecture and acustic of the room, the performance, costumes, everything was perfect. Exceeded expectations

We booked our tickets before reading the reviews here - fortunately! Reading numerous accounts about members of the audience behaving rudely during the concert made us feel quite nervous as to what to expect. Had I read the reviews first, I probably wouldn't have bought tickets which in hindsight would have been a mistake. To our relief, the audience behaved perfectly. I scanned the auditorium several times and did not see one single person who wasn't intently paying attention and enjoying the performance.
As for the performance itself, it was stellar. The orchestra played beautifully and their skill was complemented by the excellent acoustics of the Golden Hall. The singers were lovely and charismatic. The conductor was the perfect MC for this kind of night, getting the crowd involved with a bit of humor (thanks for trolling us during the Rondo Alla Turca hehe). All in all a truly memorable experience that we will keep in our hearts forever. Thank you to all the performers!

Lovely concert

We booked midday for the 8.15pm Orchestra. , we were informed that they would be performing in the golden hall (which was a very nice venue).
The show was nice, the conductor was a fun and funny guy as he did what he could to engage the crowd and the ushers were friendly.
The performance was lovely especially the lady opera signer, her voice was Majestic.. photos aren’t allowed when the performance is ongoing..
Finally, don’t feel pressured to get the premium tickets, there’s nothing different between premium and A (unless the A’s on sale are very bad ones).
This attraction is very recommended, Enjoy!

Wir hatten VIP-Karten. Genossen ein 4 Gang Candle Light Dinner was ausgezeichnet war. Danach wurden wir vom Pagen abgeholt und es ging per Pferdekutsche zum Konzert.Der Saal ist traumhaft. Die Spieler spielten sehr klar und sauber.Es hat uns mega gut gefallen und es war ein gelungener Abend.

Geburtstagsgeschenk - ein Konzert der Superlative!

Zu meinem Geburtstag habe ich mir als Geschenk ein Konzert des Mozart Orchesters gegönnt. Zusammen mit meiner Frau durften wir einen unvergesslichen Abend erleben. Zuerst dinierten wir im Hotel Bistrol. Ausgezeichnet! Danach ging es zu Fuss zum Goldenen Saal. Ich hatte hohe Erwartungen und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Das Ambiente in diesem Haus und dann das Konzert mit den beiden Solisten - ein Traum! Wir haben 2 wunderschöne Stunden im Beisein von Mozart verbracht und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Was mir jedoch - und das haben andere auch schon etwas bemengelt war die Tatsache, dass es leider leider sehr viel "sonstige Touristen" in lockerer Kleidung hatte, völlig unpassend für einen solchen Anlass. Ich verstehe ja, dass man den Saal möglichst füllen will - und dafür wird ja am Tag hindurch auch genügend auf den Strassen geworben - aber ich denke auch, dass eine gewisse Kleidervorschrift angebracht wäre. Es würde dem Ganzen einen etwas höheren, sympatischeren, angenehmeren und passenden Rahmen geben. Die Musiker treten in ihren tollen, zeitgenössischen Kostümen auf und im Saal sitzen dann die ZuhörerInnen mit T-Shirt und Trainerhosen und Turnschuhen. Das ist etwas Schade. Trotzdem, für uns bleibt es ein unvergessliches Erlebnis und ich kann jeden nur empfehlen - geht hin und besucht dieses Konzert. Es lohnt sich!

Our concierge booked us tickets at this music hall and we were not sorry. It was wonderful. Beautiful theater and they took a picture of us in the lobby with the backdrop of the stage and it was free!!!! A nice touch. Our guide told us that this has a good reputation for being quality music. Apparently not are all of high standard.

Sehr tolles Erlebnis!

Das Orchester war wirklich toll und es war eine sehr gelungene Vorstellung! Die Buchung war unkompliziert, nur würde ich mir wünschen, dass man den Voucher nicht extra ausdrucken muss, sondern es reicht, wenn man es am Handy vorzeigt. Außerdem war mir nicht ganz klar, dass die Veranstaltung IM Goldenen Saal statt findet. Auch auf dem ausgedruckten Voucher war keine Information diesbezüglich, so dass wir irrtümlicherweise zuerst in die Staatsoper gegangen sind

Music in Vienna

Mozart Konzert - Wunderbar

Ich habe meine Frau und Schwiegereltern zum Konzert genommen (keine sind riesige Fans von Klassische Musik) und es war hervorragend. Eine gute Auswahl von Mozart Stuecke und zum Schluss gab es noch zwei Stuecke von Strauss. Der Goldene Saal ist wunderschoen und alle 3 waren vom ganzen Erlebnis beeindruckt.

this was a dinner and concert deal and to be honest one has to bear that in mind and not expect full al la cart dining followed by world class music with international stars in a top venue. Because of people not realising this one can expect some people to try and show they know better by giving views that do not reflect this.
I can only speak from my experience as someone who went into it with eyes open and with experience of fine dining and top level events etc - here goes -
The dining was at the Bristol Lounge and the menu was very limited. However, it is a lovely restaurant with a reputation to maintain and as such the food served and the service it was served with were excellent. A short walk to the venue and the show was ready to start.
The venue is wonderful. Full of golden wonder it is a hall with good acoustics and glorious decor. The hall is worth a visit in its own right. Yes the seating is not very comfortable but there was a time when people could cope without cushions and extra legroom. Some seats have better views than others - guess what...that is why some tickets cost more. Look at the seating plan etc before choosing what level to buy. My only real complaint about the seating was that there was no exit on the side so one felt a bit penned in. However, the performances were separated into two parts with an interval which made it easily bearable for grown ups.
The selection of music was mainly the big hits - which is what people want from this form of show - if you want something of a deeper cut then you need to put effort into finding that. The quality of playing was very good - as was the show of frequent thanking each other etc - the conductor was relaxed and they all appeared to be having fun. Everyone knew what they were doing and relaxed into it. The period costume sounds like it is touristy and it is, however, it was also colourful and pleasing to the eye and I see no reason why that is a bad thing. The length of the show was perfect, starting at 20.15 and out by 22.00 with an interval and with the second half building to the more familiar, communal and fun works.
On the whole the audience were well behaved, there was an announcement (in many languages) at the beginning telling people not to record the show and I only noticed one person do so and one other check for messages. A lot less than I have seen in other venues.
Ticket price included a free CD of the best of Mozart - as we had purchased two tickets we were given two vouchers. When we went to exchange them at the shop we were given two different CD's allowing us to have volumes 1 and 2 rather than two of the same - a nice touch and I am listening to one of them as I write this.
If this is a tourist trap then I think it is a trap worth having - for some it will be an introduction to music in a lovely setting and a refined meal - I could think of much worse ways to treat tourists.
Oh and I should add that there is no dress code as such but please show respect to the venues, the performers and each other and put some effort in - most men were in shirt and tie if not fully suited.

Golden voice in Goldener Saal

The Goldener Saal in the Wiener Musikverein has a special meaning for people who from their childhood listened to the New Year's concerts broadcasted from this hall every year. I am very grateful to the organizers of Vienna Mozart Concerts for performing in this historical place almost every day, in such a classical style. In my long life, I've heard more than twenty Queens of the Night, sung by very famous sopranos but Ms. Simon's coloratura on that night in Musikverein was stunningly even more brilliant. Also, Maestro Ola Rudner and his orchestra has given both of us an unforgettable performance - many thanks to All who played and sung for us that night.

An amazing evening of music and character

This was a brilliant evening. The orchestra were excellent and the Singers exceptional. Sheer joy to listen to for 2 hours. I’d heard bad reviews about everyone talking through it and forever taking pictures obscuring your views and listening enjoyment. However now it is strictly supervised, absolutely no pics and no talking til the end. For those of you not wanting to spend too much on tickets the seats at the back (c section) were absolutely fine.

Loved, loved, loved this concert. Period dress, superior music, and all Mozart music. I attended another Mozart concerts here a few years ago and went again when I was in Vienna in August 2018, as it was so well done, I wanted to experience it again. I was impressed with the music, the musicians, the singers, and the conductor. It was the last Mozart concert of the season and the performers, musicians, and conductor were in wonderful spirits. I love these concerts at the Vienna Staatsoper. I've been to other Mozart concerts around Vienna, but this one with the Vienna at the State Opera house is better than all others. A must if you are in Vienna and you love classical music. I highly recommend it.

Concerto magnifico con musicisti e cantori in costumi d'epoca, tutti molto bravi. Teatro pieno di fascino e storia, con selezione dei brani tra i piu' famosi di Mozart e gran finale a sorpresa. Riprese vietate durante la rappresentazione ma prima e dopo non ci sono stati problemi. Abbigliamento informale (forse troppo). Con il biglietto ho ricevuto in omaggio un cd di Mozart e una foto assieme alla famiglia con lo sfondo del teatro.Posti in prima fila piuttosto sacrificati e costo elevato ma, nel "complesso", concerto assolutamente imperdibile per chiunque voglia visitare Vienna.

Well behaved audience great show

After reading all the reviews I was like, "skip it". My sister really wanted to go so we did and I am glad we spent the time and money. Truly a great show. All period dress and pieces and mostly all familiar. They played to the audience and the orchestra we very accessible. Just fun, charming and the audience was respectful. Wish I would have dressed up a bit more.

Perfect Evening!

I have had the chance to attend a concert of the Wiener Mozart Orchestra with a friend. Everything has been how I expected it to be. The Opera building, with its high ceilings, crystal chandeliers and gold creates an atmosphere which recalls the majesty of the old times. The orchestra performed excellently and the Director and Singers managed to involve the audience. I would totally recommend a night out at the Opera.

Brilliant Score

The music performance was superb and captured every audience's attention. The conductor also made it interactive and involved the audience which added an extra entertainment. The performers were dressed in old fashioned way which added to the ambience. My choice of seat was not the best - upper stall on the side, second row from where visibility of the stage was reduced to 1/4th.

Classic, gorgeous yet entertaining

it is worth for at least once in your life time to attend the event. Although the orchestra wasn’t as big as the ordinary one, it was great to see all performers dressing in ancient costumes. Singers brought laughter to the audience. It was an extraordinary experience to enjoy Mozart’s music.

Leuk om eens mee te maken.

Dit concert hadden wij bijgewoond in de Weense Opera. Het gebouw op zich is al de moeite waard om het te bezoeken. Zelf hadden we tickets voor dit concert van 50€ p.p met beperkt zicht, dus als je echt alles wil zien van het podium zal je toch moeten gaan voor duurdere kaartjes. Het concert zelf was goed en vooral naar toeristen gericht met enkel bekende stukken. Kwaliteit was goed en de interactie met het publiek ook (vooral op het einde van het concert) wij kunnen dit concert zeker aanraden.

A "must do" while in Vienna


Really enjoyed the concert. One has to go to the Opera House and hear music while in Vienna, and this was a great venue. The music was fun, with some unexpected additions, and all very well done. Would def go back. We went to the Museum of Music in the morning, and that was a great compliment and prelude for the concert

Worth the money!

We had front row box seats, first mezzanine. Perfect! The concert was wonderful. The opera house is as beautiful in person as in the pictures. The only issue was that it was warm, but since Vienna was experiencing a heat wave the a/c units must have been working overtime.

Tolle Akkustik!

Die Akkustik des Raums ist außergewöhnlich, daher war der Abend ein tolles Klangerlebnis. Leider konnte aber die Akkustik nicht die permanent quasselnden Gäste übertönen. 2 Reihen vor uns saß eine 5-köpfige Familie aus Italien, die permant lautstark Gespräche führte. Nach 30 Minuten fingen Mutter und Tochter dann zusätzlich an rumzukichern und zu lachen bis zum Beginn der Pause. Dazu wurde eine Wasserflasche rumgereicht und fotografiert. Im Parterre achtete das Saalpersonal auf die Einhaltung der Regeln des Hauses. In den Logen hat dies leider niemand getan. Hier könnte das Haus darüber nachdenken, zusätzliches Personal in den Logen zu platzieren.
Ich habe in der Pause dann die "Platzanweiserin" angesprochen und darum gebeten, für Ruhe zu sorgen. Der Hinweis der Dame, dass sie mit den Leuten sprechen würde aber wenig Hoffnung hätte, dass sich etwas ändert, hat mich etwas irritiert - offensichtlich ist man dort solches Verhalten gewohnt und kapituliert davor. Erfreulicherweise wurde es dann aber in der 2. Hälfte tatsächlich leiser, und der entsprechenden Familie wurde ebenfalls untersagt, in der Pause gekaufte Getränke im Saal zu konsumieren. Vielen Dank an dieser Stelle nochmals für den Einsatz der Dame!
Grundsätzlich kann ich die vorherigen Bewertungen aber nur bekräftigen: ständig wird irgendwo etwas fallen gelassen (des Geräuschs nach ein Handy/eine Kamera), trotz Foto-Verbot wird immer wieder irgendwo ein Handy gezückt. Laut Webseite gibt es für die Konzerte keine Kleiderordnung, außer dass auf Shorts verzichtet werden soll. Ausgerechnet die sind mir dann direkt aufgefallen - es wäre schön, wenn dieses minimale Niveau eingehalten würde.
Die Auswahl der Stücke hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Es war auch nett, einmal die Tradition des "Mitklatschens" mitzuerleben.
Das Orchester/den Dirigenten habe ich teilweise als etwas gehetzt erlebt.
Abschließend kann ich sagen, dass ich gerne noch mal ein Konzert in diesem außergewöhnlichen Saal buche.

Tolles Erlebnis für mich und meinen Vater
Ich war mit meinen Eltern 4 Tage in Wien und am 25.08. stand dann endlich der langersehnte Besuch in der Wiener Staatsoper mit meinem Vater an.Wir saßen in der 12. Reihe, für uns war die Akustik absolut perfekt. Davon war ich wirklich begeistert!Ich kann auch, zumindest für unseren Besuch, den Eindruck anderer hier nicht bestätigen, was das Publikum betrifft. Bei uns wurde direkt am Anfang noch 1-2 Male fotografiert, was aber sofort vom Personal unterbunden wurde und dann war damit Schluss. Die ganze Zeit und besonders während der Flöten-Soli war es völlig still, man konnte sich absolut auf die Musik konzentrieren.Ich finde es schade, wie viele hier schlecht bewerten wegen des quasi nicht vorhanden Dresscodes. Man soll doch so gehen können, wie man das möchte und sich nicht darum scheren, was andere tragen.Ansonsten waren mein Vater und ich jetzt auch keine absoluten Fans des Mitklatschens, wenn das aber so Tradition hat, ist das ja eigentlich ganz lustig.Das eine Pünktchen ziehe ich nur ab, weil es für uns ein wenig zu kurz war (ca. 2 x 50 min), obwohl man ja zugegebenermaßen die Dauer schon vorher gekannt hat. Ich hätte mir trotzdem gewünscht / würde mir für die Zukunft wünschen, dass man vielleicht wenigstens noch ein halbes Stündchen dran hängt - Mozart hat ja definitiv mehr als genug Material. Wenn man sich noch einen guten Klavierspieler einlädt, eröffnet das erst recht neue Horizonte.Die Musikauswahl war gut. Der erste Satz der 39. Symphonie, ein paar Auszüge aus den großen Mozart-Opern (Figaro, Serail, Don Giovanni, Zauberflöte) (eine wirklich bezaubernde Sängerin, Ihre Stimme ging wirklich bis durchs Knochenmark), das Rondo Alla Turca in der orchestralen Fassung, der erste Satz der 40. Symphonie und 2 Auszüge aus den Flöten-Konzerten, abschließend 2 Stücke von Strauss, die wohl so Tradition haben. Sicherlich noch manches was ich vergessen habe, aber das war so der Querschnitt. Eine solide Auswahl.

O melhor serão

O ambiente é muito agradável. Comprei os bilhetes via net e imprimi tranquilamente em casa, evitando as filas para os levantar. Comprei bilhetes para os lugares mais em cima, mas na primeira fila (Ópera Estatal). A vista do palco é fantástica, mesmo estando longe. Os músicos são muito bons e o programa está bastante equilibrado (bom equilíbrio entre peças mais conhecidas e outras menos). Foi, sem dúvida, um serão muito agradável.

Perfekt für Einsteiger

Wer sich bereits mit dieser Art der Musik auskennt und Konzerte bzw Opern öfter besucht, ist vielleicht etwas unterfordert und sollte lieber Aufführungen im Musikverein oder der Staatsoper besuchen. Um an Mozart oder Strauß im passenden Ambiente herangeführt zu werden und weiteres Interesse zu entwickeln, scheint mir diese Art der Darbietung sehr gut geeignet. Meiner Bekannten, die noch nie in einem derartigen Konzert gewesen ist, hat es jedenfalls sehr gut gefallen. Die Karten sind allerdings nicht gerade preisgünstig, aber dennoch eine Empfehlung für den Wien Touristen.

Beautiful building, great music, fun concert

We saw a Mozart concert in the Musikverein, which was opened in 1870 -- a beautiful building While we are not the most discriminating connoisseurs of classical music we thought that the orchestra and singers (for the opera portions) were good. The orchestra dresses up in period costumes which was fun and the conductor interacted with the audience which also made it fun. We sat in the 5 or so row -- so if you can swing close seats it is worth it.

Great for first timers to classical

We enjoy classical music but we have never been to a live show nor do we know much about it. The show was fantastic and very engaging. It went so quickly! The Opera Wiener Staatsoper is a gorgeous venue (inside and out). Must do for anyone visiting Vienna and wanting to experience classical music - what better place to do so!

Vienna Mozart Orchestra

Outstanding performance. Better than we expected. Went with my 2 college-aged children, one playing in university orchestra. Authentic experience. 90% Mozart, 10% Strauss. It’s August. It’s packed with tourists. It was very hot since outside evening temps were in the 80s at night. Sat in a box low down. May have been cooler not in box. Not American air conditioning. Also took a tour of the opera house the day before which added to the performance.

Amazing experience

The Musikverein is an amazing place!! The sound in the Golden Hall is brilliant and we had a fabulous evening! I cannot believe some people were stuck to their mobile phones for the entire evening.... it is their loss!! The repertoire was good and the performance was very good and fun.

Le concert est magnifique, l'orchestre et le chef savent mettre dans l'ambiance de l'opéra. Les musiques sont de grands classiques très bien mis en scène.

Veillez cependant à bien choisir votre place car il y a plusieurs endroits d'où lesquels la scène n'est pas visible (nous voyions les gens se mettre debout pour voir le chef d'orchestre). Ainsi, malgré que ce soit tout de même un opéra très touristique (vous ne verrez pas de viennois là bas), la qualité est au rendez-vous.

Amazing, enterteining, nice Hall

It was so much fun because the director made the public also part of the concert. I was sitting with my family on the cercle seats 1st row on the right. Great seats, I loved to see from nearby all the expressions of the musicians and the acoustics were also fantastic!! We could see very well all the singers because they were standing on the right side of the director. And nobody of us got neck pain for sitting on the 1st row, the podium is not so high. So if you are in Vienna I would recommend such a nice concert!!

It was fun; better than I expected.

I had read some of the reviews that made it sound like the concert was silly and that people would be taking pictures throughout the concert. It wasn't like that. They made an announcement at the beginning saying no cameras and no photos, and that was never a problem. We went with 4 adults and an 11- year old. We had seats in the 6th row center, which kept us quite engaged. The musicians played many of Mozart's famous pieces. The conductor interjected some humor now and then, so this wasn't like going to the NY Philharmonic, but his humor turned out to be fun, not silly. Overall the entire performance was worthwhile.

It was heavenly.

The music was amazing and the orchestra and singers were superb. I don't think everyone in the audience enjoyed it. Some left at the interval and didn't return and some fell asleep but I was enthralled the whole way through !

Wir waren mit Gästen aus Fernost beim Wiener Mozart Konzert und waren sehr begeistert. Sowohl die Auswahl der Stücke, wie auch die Aufführung waren ein einmaliges Erlebnis, für unsere Gäste war es der Höhepunkt ihrer Wien-Besuchs. Schade, dass die Plätze in den vorderen Reihen Parterre vor ca. 4 Wochen schon vergeben waren und gestern beim Konzert überwiegend leer geblieben sind. Das sieht nicht but aus!

Great fun and high quality musically

We were looking forward to seeing the Musikverein and the concert sounded fun, with all the players in C18 costume. We didn’t have particularly high expectations of the music, but the playing was excellent and the programme well planned - a mixture of popular favourites and less well known pieces, with very good singers and solo flute too.

We purchased the combination dinner and concert package. The dinner was at the Hotel Bristol. The food was excellent, the service was so-so. We thoroughly enjoyed the Mozart, Strauss, etc selections for the concert. And of course the concert hall is very special.

Com certeza não será barrado na entrada por conta do seu traje, vimos desde smoking até bermuda.

Compramos nosso ingresso pelo site e escolhemos o balcão superior central, na primeira fila. Uma vista muito boa de todo palco. Percebi a dificuldade de visualização do palco dos que estavam sentados no balcão superior direito. Os músicos e cantores entram por esse lado do palco impossibilitando a visão de partes da encenação. Outro local ruim é ficar atrás da orquestra, de frente para o palco.

Fazem um pequeno intervalo, tempo suficiente para levantar, ir ao banheiro e tirar fotos. É expressamente proibido filmar ou fotografar durante o espetáculo. Terminando o concerto vale muito um passeio a pé pela tranquila e segura noite vienense.

My husband, and kids aged 10 and 12 attended this concert in July. We also booked the dinner at the Hotel Bistro with our tickets. Dinner was a prix fixe menu, was quite good. The Opera House was across the street. Concert in it was a delight. It consisted of the orchestra, opera singers, and a choir. It was just the right amount of time for my family. If you are really into classical music, this may not be the concert for you!

Encounter with Mozart

The concert was fabulous, Each piece was interpreted by excellent musicians ( great soloist and the orchestra). You can tell by their faces how much they enjoyed to play these pieces. The venue was perfect for the Mozart’s style and the costumes made the perfect combination to make you feel like you are about to meet Mozart himself.
There are several of good things, like a small souvenir store, a bar ( I would love to see the bar open before the concert instead of just waiting).
The music are the classics, so anybody can enjoy even the non opera fans).
I took my mother to the concert and she was extremely happy. According to her words, she experienced all the range of emotions; fall in love with Don Giovanni, have goosebumps with the symphony 40 and clap according to the director’s instructions on the grand finale.
It was a beautiful night, we didn’t care about the rainstorm.
Thank you for an unforgettable evening.

Amazing Experience

We are not very found of Classical Music and with 2 kids (8 and 11) we were worried they'll get bored. I was planning to leave by midterm break.

Great evening in Vienna

The concert at the Vienna State Opera house was delightful. Not only was there beautiful music from the orchestra and soloists, but the ambiance of the evening was enhanced by the musicians ,ushers and entire Opera House staff being in period costumes.

Incidentally, just seeing this gorgeous building is worth the price of admission.

Wonderful Experience in a Beautiful Venue

This venue has a wow factor, it is beautiful. The music sounded delightful.

Our seats were in the middle balcony, row 6 and it was difficult to see around the people seated in front so we had a poor view of the stage.

I've seen reviews where people have written that people take other people's seats. From what I saw these 'seat thieves' were moved to their correct cheaper seats by staff.

All in all a rather lovely way to spend an evening in Vienna.

Wonderful Evening

What a great night of music! I attended with a bit of trepidation but needn’t have worried as the orchestra performed superbly, the program was a good mix, the crowd was attentive and respectful, and the temperature in the hall was very comfortable. The soloists were inspiring and the conductor kept the evening flowing smoothly. My third time in Vienna but my first to this type of concert since it has a reputation of being touristy, but I was happily surprised by not only the quality of the orchestra but by the respectful audience.

Eine schöne Einstimmung auf Mozart

Natürlich kein klassischer Konzert- oder gar Opernabend. Natürlich gibt es Besucher, die in die Stücke reinklatschen. Natürlich blickt man zu Beginn vor allem in Handydisplays statt auf Musiker. Aber es war genau das, was versprochen wurde: ein unterhaltsamer Abend in tollem Ambiente mit einer Kurzreise durch Mozarts Schaffen. Für uns ein gelungener Einstieg in den Wienurlaub.

A little geared towards tourists - but still lots of fun

Don't get me wrong, it was a good concert and the music was good. But there are A LOT of tourists (admittedly I was one too) that go, but more to the point, if you are after a formal concert setting this probably isn't what you are after. However if you after something causal and as an intro into concert going, then it is perfect.

Mozart at Its Best


We were fortunate to have from row seats to an amazing performance. We attended multiple concerts while in Vienna and this one I highly recommend. The costumes were a nice touch and the combination of selected music was ideal. I would call it a greatest hits concert as most music was highly recognizable. I suggest getting a good seat, as the music is much more appreciated in a more intimate setting.

Excellent ntroduction to classical music concerts

Eventhough i grew up listening to the works of the Classical Masters my family is not familiar with this genre of music. Therefore when visiting Vienna it was important for me personally to give them a taste of it without over whelming them. This concert was the perfect introduction. The program was chosen very well. A night with Mozart


Orchestra and vocalists in period costumes. Golden salon is beautiful with great acoustics. Unfortunately some visitors do not adhere to the direction that there is no photography or recording during the performances. It is distracting to have phone screens glaring during the performance. Ushers do not intervene. The performances were amazing.

Wiener Mozart Konzert

We attended this concert which was excellent. In retrospect it is MUCH better to just purchase tickets for the concert and make your own arrangements to eat before or after the concert. We felt the Gourmet Dinner provided as an additional option was not worth the extra money at all. Although the food was of reasonable standard there was little choice and extras like still water and coffer were exhorbitant. The concert however was excellent and not to be missed.You also have opportunity to purchase CD's of the progamme at the concert hall. The concert deserves 5 stars but buying into the gourmet meal was much regretted.

Great selection of music beautifully played and sung

Loved the performance! We were very pleased when they played several encores including a beautiful rendition of Strauss' Blue Danube Waltz. Audience was a bit disrespectful dressing down and taking pictures and videos even though they said it was not allowed.

A great addition to our trip to Vienna

Our family of four (children ages 13 and 10) very much enjoyed the Mozart concert! What better way to experience Vienna than to take in a Mozart concert? The concert hall is beautiful, the musicians are dressed in period costumes, the maestro was very lively and fun to watch, and the music was a nice variety of Mozart's work. It included some very well-known pieces, some excerpts from his famous operas, and some pieces we did not know but very much enjoyed. My favorite was the Rondo Alla Turca, featuring a piccolo for the melody.

We also received a free CD of the music, which we look forward to enjoying when we get home.

I don't know why the public continues to amaze me with their lack of decorum at these kinds of events. People walked in and climbed over other guests in the audience while the orchestra was playing rather than waiting until the applause, took photos and videos despite announcements in every language to say this was prohibited, dressed inappropriately, etc. Please, everyone, dress and act appropriately so as not to detract from the other guests' experience!

Took the whole family to enjoy a Mozart theme concert. Beautiful venue and wonderful music. I purchased the seat on the side balcony, and had limited view of the stage. Spend a little more and get the front view balcony or first floor seats.

Entertaining Concert for Non-Classical music attendees

My husband not a fan of classical music, throughly enjoyed concert. Purchased front row, side tickets where we could view the orchestra players. Ticket purchased directly by calling to Vienna booking office to make sure the ticket seats were in perfect view of orchestra players. So enjoyable. My husband loved it. Worth every penny. Over $100 per ticket for these seats....but worth it !

An enjoyable night out for the family to see a classical concert in the Vienna Golden Hall. The program contained mainly classics for those who are not classically orientated like Eine Kleine Nacht Music, Radetzky March, Blue Danube Waltz ,Pappageno, Magic Flute etc.
The orchestra was outstanding as were the soloists. It was a fun night and the Golden hall is spectacular to go and see a well.

Mozart concert

Good concert, pity the flutes or clarinet played a minor rol. The lady singer sometimes lost her tune. Atmosphere good. For me sometimes a bit too much Andre Rieux. And noisy spectators, who brand keep talKing. Performance overall good and special to be in this room.

Musiciens à la hauteur de cette salle mitique!

Je redoutais le côté « trappe à touristes » . Effectivement beaucoup de groupes de touristes y assistent mais la salle mentionne bien l’interdiction de photos/films en plusieurs langues avant le concert et cela fut respecté. Prix raisonnable pour assister à un concert dans cette salle mitique! Solo du flûtiste exceptionnel! Nous étions à la rangée 17 du côté droit. Je vous suggère le côté droit pour bien voir les violonistes en action. Sinon les loges du côté pour avoir une belle vue d’ensemble. Une belle soirée. Allez manger dans un café du secteur pour un complète expérience!

Inesquecível

Para quem gosta e mesmo para aqueles que não são super apaixonados por música erudita, o espetáculo é maravilhoso. Tocam todas aquelas músicas que certamente alguma vez na vida você já ouviu. Real Feeling of Mozart Time

we attended a Mozart concert, first we were very excited with the Dress and suits of the orchestra, so fascinating old style. we could see the real time of Mozart or Amadeus Movie.
the Music was very pleasant, very charming and we really enjoyed.

Concert as expected

We were seduced by many people for diffirent concerts. All looked good. We took all leaflets and then walked passed this venue @ about 7 oclock. There were a lot of people all dressed nicely and all look so good. We booked on line and got reasonable seats. We loved it and it was wat we expected. Proper concert.

We loved it

The conductor got the audience involved, and it was fun. The musicians are all dressed as men, (even though half of them are women!), and dressed in their 18th century outfits. Most of the crowd is dressed nicely..some men in sports jackets. I minded the people wearing shorts and tee shirts. But, it was a lovely evening. The singers were good too.

What a beautiful concert with a varied programme of Mozart orchestral and vocal works, and all the artists in period costume. Then at the end an unexpected encore with several Strauss waltzes. We really enjoyed the evening.

Zu dem Orchester: Einfach klasse. Wunderschön gespielt und bekannte und gute Auswahl der Stücke. Musikalisch wirklich ein Traum!!

Zu der Veranstaltung: Klar es handelt sich ein Touristenfang, weil es eben das alte Wien wiederspiegelt und es für Touristen sicher ein tolles Erlebnis ist. Sind wir Österreicher doch froh, dass wir in einem Land leben, dass bei Touristen beliebt ist. Haben ja nur Vorteile davon.

Dadurch dass viele Touristen anwesend sind und nicht jeder Tourist einen Anzug und ein Abendkleid im Koffer hat, kommen viele eher im legeren Outfit, aber was solls..

Was Handy und Lautstärke bestrifft, kann ich den negativen Bewertungen nicht zustimmen. Am Anfang wurde in mehreren Sprachen ein striktes Handyverbot ausgerufen und daran haben sich auch alle gehalten. Insbesondere weil auch immer eine Aufsicht im Saal war. Dadurch haben sich auch alle gut benommen dort.

Alles in allem ein wurnderschöner Abend mit vielleicht kleinen Mankos, aber dafür kann das Orchester nichts. Die haben eine tolle Leistung abgelegt.

Großes Spektakel - wie zu Mozarts Zeiten

Für echte Klassik-fans u.U. nicht geeignet, da das Publikum eher keine Konzertgänger sind und es daher teilweise wie im Taubenschlag hergeht (zu-spät-kommer, dauernd fällt jmd etwas 'runter usw.)
Wenn man mit einer anderen Erwartung herkommt, kann man das ganze Spektakel sehr geniessen, insbesondere Kindern und Menschen, denen Konzerte sonst zu langweilig sind gefällt es sicher, denn alle bekannten Stücke von Mozart und noch Zugaben aus dem Neujahrskonzert werden gespielt und die Kostüme und der Saal sind fabelhaft und absolut sehenswert.
Immerhin ging es zu Mozarts Zeiten tatsächlich so zu und die andächtige Stille ist ein Phänomen heutiger Zeit.

I strongly recommend for people who wants to listen to a light concert with well-known parts of Mozart concerts and opera arias. The program is very well chosen and the audience is involved by a friendly atmosphere, with the musicians in historical costumes of the XVIII century.

A real celebration of Mozart through some of his most iconic work. A beautiful, small and intimate setting allowed for an up-close encounter. Venue was beautiful and the staff were polite and helpful. My only criticism, if any, was that the singers had to share the same space as the orchestra which meant that the male singer’s beautiful voice was almost completely lost at times as it struggled to lift itself over the mid-frequency instruments.

A very enjoyable evening

We booked the combined dinner and concert tickets. The dinner at the Bristol was quite good and our concert tickets were on the table when we arrived. The concert itself was very enjoyable and even our reluctant teenage attendees had a good time. One point to note, if you have to pick up tickets at the venue then go as early as you can - the box office area was very busy in the half hour leading up to concert start time. Overall a great experience and good value for money.

It was absolutely worth paying for the VIP package. The dinner at Opus Restaurant in Imperial Hotel was delicious and the service was very attentive. Then the Mozart Page came to greet us and pick us up from the restaurant to go on the carriage ride. We had thought the carriage ride would be only from the restaurant to the concert hall but it was a 30-minute ride around town in Vienna which was beautiful in the lights. Then the concert was completely enjoyable and fun. The musicians looked like they loved performing for the audience and the conductor was great to involve the audience in a couple of pieces to make the concert very memorable for us all. We would recommend this to everyone!

We really enjoyed our night at the Musikverein. Great directions to the Hall were provided on our information/voucher sheet which were very helpful. The musicians were beautifully dressed and the conductor did a superb job of directing. I liked the variety of the concert too, as opera singers were also involved in the program. A few waltzes were played at the end, making for a very enjoyable evening!

This trip was the highlight of an already wonderful holiday to Vienna! We had seen such amazing sights, beautiful historic buildings, imperial palaces including the Schonbrunn Palace. This culminated in a marvellous evening listening to Mozart's music in the Golden Hall at the Musikverein. Before the concert, we enjoyed a delicious gourmet meal in a lovely hotel called the Hotel Bristol, full of old world charm with its excellent, attentive service and glamorous surroundings, frequented by many celebrities and famous people over many years. Following this, we walked to the Musikverein Concert Hall nearby and enjoyed a marvellous concert, visually stunning too with the orchestra and singers dressed in period dress. The atmosphere was very special and the evening was an amazing finish to a memorable holiday.

I was in Mozart Heaven! Great orchestra and conductor. Singers were good, but only had a soprano and baritone. I wanted to hear a tenor. I would add more singers, but enjoyed the concert. Musikverein is an AMAZING hall. Absolutely breathtaking. This is a must for Vienna! One of the encores had audience participation, where the conductor led the audience. I am a New Yorker, and that was a first for me! Highly recommend. Don't go to Vienna without doing this!!!!

You must do all you can to visit the Musikverein when in Vienna. I would even suggest you get in to see it without a concert if it's possible. Obviously if there is a concert on, don't hesitate, GO!!! An unforgettable experience. It does say on the tickets to be suitably dressed. My daughter and I actually went shopping for clothes and shoes for just this performance. We then donated the clothes etc and that added cost to the evening but nearly everyone does make an effort to dress well for the occasion so I'm glad we were suitably attired. Although it was very cold outside it is quite warm inside and the seating is very close. I needed a fan. A wonderful night. So delighted to have been.

Great! There are many young men selling concert tickets on the city streets. However, I doubt any could have provided the thrill of seating center stage third row of a concert preformed as one may have seen in an earlier centuries.

We really enjoyed the show. One of the reasons was the seating. We were seated on the stage to the side of the orchestra. Plus, the performance was great. From the orchestra to the performers they were first rate.
The venue was also beautiful. The sound was perfect.

The concert was excellent. We had great seats, second row of the balcony. The venue is air conditioned which was wonderful given how hot it was. The conductor was excellent and actually got the audience involved at one point. It was really enjoyable. One of the female singers was probably a substitute since she was not listed in the program. She appeared to have trouble projecting. The tenor and baritone were great though. One weird thing is that they claimed to give you a CD of the performance, but the CD we received was of a completely different performance. Another odd thing is that they leave the lights up fully during the entire performance. This leads to people taking pictures and video throughout which is a bit distracting....but what can you do.

More than outstanding. The conductor had a great sense of humor, flair, expertise and emotion. The baritone was good. The soprano was terrific ! The musicians were excellent. What they all did was demonstrate their superb musicianship but also remembered that they are entertainers as well. The Musikverein was full of highly appreciative and enthusiastic audience. 3 encores. The place was beautiful, acoustics great, air conditioned...perfect evening. Although some people did not dress up, the place had asked audience to dress up. Most people did. Wonderful evening! Musikverein was easy to get to on the U-bahn.

It was great fun! The orchestra chose to play Mozart selections that most people would recognize and the acoustics in the Musikverein were amazing! We had seats on the stage behind the orchestra so it was great to watch the conductor and see how much fun he seemed to be having.

Delicious dinner at Restaurant Opus of the Imperial Hotel. It was nice to meet the Ochestra Director and the Soprano. Good Concert. Great venue. The page dressed in customs use in the time of Mozart was of great help. He took care offs all the way.
